Flexible Seating to Support Movement, Choice, and Engagement
Help me give my students a comfortable learning environment that supports student choice, collaboration, and focus. These items allow my students to move around, find seating that meets their individual needs, and work in spaces that encourage creativity.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My 5th grade students are energetic, curious, and eager to learn in ways that reflect their growing independence. Flexible seating will give them the opportunity to choose workspaces that help them focus, stay comfortable, and collaborate more effectively with their peers. Whether they’re reading, writing, or working on group projects, having a variety of seating options, like stools, floor cushions, or carpet space, allows them to take ownership of their learning. This kind of classroom environment will support their diverse learning styles, encourage movement, and help them build responsibility and self-awareness.
