I teach at a large, Title I, K-5 elementary school that serves a predominantly Latino, African American, and mixed demographic. Our students are bright, mindful, and have a lot of heart. We are eager to become leaders of the 21st century to make positive changes in our community and world.
The needs of my classroom and community are the core of my approach to education.
I want to create a learning environment where students can learn in the way they need to.
My Project
My goal is to meet the needs of my students by providing them with different seating options that will allow students to move and balance while learning. Currently, we have one borrowed seating disc available for the classroom and it has helped our one little learner tremendously. She is able to move around safely her chair while working at her desk. Unfortunately, there are more students that would benefit from flexible seating than I am able to provide for.
Your donation would go towards helping our learners thrive.
Our kids wish to be successful in school and in life, but many do not fit in the conventional lecture model. They need movement and sensory tools, and hands on learning applications to really soar.
More than half of students from low‑income households
