My Students

My fifth graders are energetic, creative, and hardworking and deserve a classroom that matches their motivation for learning. A major focus in my classroom is learning how to self-regulate behaviors and appropriately express emotions. Our class spends a lot of time discussing how we are all different with a variety of strengths and how those different strengths are what make us stronger as a class community.

I aim to teach my students how to take responsibility for their education and strive for greatness through goal setting and tracking.

My students need the ability to make choices throughout their day and determine their own learning style. This year, I hope to provide this excellent opportunity to my students in a more nurturing classroom environment that promotes independent and group learning.

My Project

These items will allow my students to feel comfortable in the classroom to work independently and cooperatively in groups. Allowing them to have creative seating options will make them feel at ease; therefore, increase their ability to focus. Providing them with unique seating options will allow my high energy kids to release energy and reduce anxiety.

Creating seating options for the students provides an opportunity for independent and group collaboration learning that will help improve their engagement and focus, spanning across all subjects.

I want my classroom to be a welcoming atmosphere that promotes students engagement through a relaxed and ready to learn classroom. I want my classroom to be a safe place that allows independent and group collaboration. This change to their classroom will help promote a nurturing environment that builds on ones confidence and team building skills.

My students will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of flexible seating options. I am sure the yoga balls will be a hit with my students who always need to move; this will provide them an opportunity to move and release anxiety while learning.
