Flexible Seating to Encourage a Love for Reading

Help me give my students flexible seating and an organized classroom. I'm a first year teacher and would love to encourage my students to read. I would love to get them out of their desks and enjoy reading.

My Project

I would love for my students to find their love of reading. Having a flexible and comfortable seat that allows them to get out of their regular desk to read will make it more appealing to my students. I will allow the students to take turns using these chairs and they will be able to read during centers. I would also love to have organization in my classroom as I am a first time teacher and i'm just starting out. My goal is to create a calming and fun environment where students feel relaxed and want to learn.

My students will be grouped to promote collaboration and team work.

I want my students to find their passion for reading and I want them to have a positive learning environment. The flexible seating chairs will be used by my classroom library and one group will be able to go to this library at a time. Each person in the group will have a chair and be able to read a book of their choosing.

My classroom will be organized and decorated to promote a calm and relaxing learning environment. My students will feel welcomed and supported when they walk through my door. I will make sure that they have supplies available and that I use their interests in my instruction to engage them in their studies. My passion is to not only teach my students but to create a love for learning in every student.
