My students are incredible! My students are in kindergarten, first, second, third, fourth, and fifth grade. They are curious, inquisitive, hard-working, and dedicated. All of my students have Individualized Educational Plans because they have been diagnosed with disabilities.
All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch at school.
They come from high poverty areas, and they all love coming to school. My students are brilliant individuals who learn differently than their peers. These students will be successful, and it's my job to create learning opportunities that ensure this.
My Project
Flexible seating allows students to find comfortable positions throughout the classroom. Comfortable students are calm, focused, and productive. Students learn better when they have a chance to work together. Traditional desks in rows isolate students from each other.
Students feel empowered by having some degree of choice and control over their environment.
Flexible seating allows students to choose where they work and with whom. It also allows them to change their location and positions as needed.
I want to give my students the ability to use the option of flexible seating to maximize their learning time and opportunities. I think that this option is just what my students need in order to have a fresh start to the school year.
