My Students
This is my 1st year teaching. I have a very diverse class of awesome 5th graders! They have not been in the classroom in a traditional setting since they were in the 3rd grade. This means I have an extremely diverse group of students: financially, social emotionally, academically, as well as culturly, levels of English, learning disabilities, physical/mental challenges, etc.
All of the diversity and examples above come together to form our awesome, school family.
All students are approved for free lunch.
School started in July. We have made a lot of changes in our room over the last few weeks in order to make it a comforting and calming environment but I would love to be able to add some alternative seating options. Flexible seating offers students an opportunity to sit in a place that works best for them to learn and stay engaged as well as being a comfortable alternative to classroom chairs.
My Project
Our classroom is located in Elk Grove, CA and currently has 28(awesome) students. We have made a lot of changes in our room over the last few weeks in order to make it a comforting and calming environment ,but I would love to be able to add some alternative seating options. I have done my best to provide classroom supplies on my own, but I am hoping to get some help providing our flexible seating.
