Help me give my students more options for flexible seating in our new classroom--floor desks, cushions, and a new rug!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Jachim's classroom raised $599

My Project
My students are a bright, inquisitive, and active group in the Montessori program at the Detroit Public Schools Community District. This year our classroom moved to a hexagonal shaped room within the school, and we are looking for some ways to enhance the space with some more flexible seating options and a new rug.
Individual floor desks will allow students to work in multiple areas within the classroom and encourage independent work.
We may even be able to use the floor desks in the courtyard just outside our classroom! The new seat cushions will be used throughout the room, at the new desks, in the library, and at a coffee table that is a classroom favorite. The rug will be added to our new library space which occupies the entry hallway into our classroom--this will allow students to comfortably select books and read in this space. The clip boards will be used by students around the room as they record their daily work, replacing some that need to be retired.
