Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am planning on implementing this project with my 2017-2018 group of kiddos! We have not met yet, but I am excited to have them and help them grow in new ways. 2nd grade is a fun, experience-filled year for many students and I hope I can take them to the next level by meeting them where they are and encouraging them to grow on a daily basis. I can't wait to see what is in store for us soon!

My Project

Flexible seating is a non-traditional approach to the classroom experience. This means fewer desks, more open space, and more opportunities for students to make their own self-directed learning decisions! Flexible seating will also allow students to use more energy throughout the day, therefore increasing their focus and engagement by getting all the wiggles out.

Students will have several options for seating including stability balls, wiggle stools, kneeling tables, lap desks, and floor seats.

I am excited to implement this strategy in my classroom. I know that it will make real changes in the ways that my students focus and learn daily!
