My Students
My self-contained 4th and 5th grade students are are always excited to learn in new and innovative ways. My students are mostly visual and kinesthetic learners, all of whom need diverse approaches to maintain their attention, and meet their goals in the classroom. My classroom at my Title I school, in the heart of Flushing, serves as a second home, where my twelve students can live and learn as their truest selves.
In my classroom, my students need constant movement to best support their needs, so flexible seating will open many doors to help my students overcome their challenges.
My students need productive movement to continuously pay attention and accomplish the goals that I have set for them, along with the goals that they have set for themselves.
My Project
I am a teacher in a Title 1 school in a low socioeconomic area in Queens, NY. My Special Education classroom consists of twelve 4th and 5th grade students. My students include children on the Autism spectrum as well as children with speech delays, learning disabilities and social and emotional limitations. Due to my students various needs/abilities, they require redirection that can often be addressed by flexible seating.
My students need Wobble cushions and balance balls for productive movement.
This will help them to continuously pay attention and accomplish the goals that I have set for them, along with the goals that they have set for themselves.
Thank you for considering our students and helping them meet their full academic and social potential! Your generosity will change my students' lives inside the classroom, and eventually outside the classroom as well!
