My students need flexible seating options, like a round table, kidney table and chairs, for small group instruction. This will increase concentration and meet diverse student needs.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is the second home for 12 amazing second and third graders! I teach Special Education and have the privilege of interacting with these 12 different personalities every day! Teaching special education is truly a dream come true for me. I learn and grow right along side of my students. It is so rewarding when goals are met, and relationships of trust are built. I will never take this responsibility for granted. I am grateful for the opportunity I have been given.
My Project
I am seeking to give my students options for where they produce their best work in an effort to help my students become independent learners. My 2nd and 3rd graders love having options when choosing where to sit. At times, when students work at their tables, they get distracted by their classmates.
With flexible seating options around the room, students will be able to find their quiet space and work their hardest.
The kidney and round table will allow for more opportunities to move about the room. I love the idea of not having formal desks and having my students choose where to work!
