My Project
Giving students choices within their learning environment allows them to have ownership in their learning. Giving them choices in seats is one way to do that. Not every kid can sit in a traditional chair and be productive. A variety of seat choices for students where they can wiggle in their spot and still productively work creates an environment where many students can succeed.
Creating a learning environment that allows students to be successful is my goal.
My hope is to be able to give my students a choice in flexible seating that will better suit their learning style. Asking our youngest learners to sit in a traditional seat and work for the amount of time that is expected is unreasonable.
Untraditional seats allow students to work muscles, wiggle, and be in a body position where they can read and write more adequately.
My students are special because they are the youngest learners. Being in Kindergarten, many are just told what to do an expected to respond. If I can help them discover how they can learn best, I have started them on the right path to being successful.
