My students need flexible seating options, including wobble stools and stability balls, in order to be fully engaged in learning.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Chubak's classroom raised $401

My Students
My students are English language learners who are eager to learn and explore the world around them. I teach at a Title 1 school in Brooklyn where all students receive free breakfast, lunch and basic school supplies.
Most of these students do not have opportunities to leave their neighborhood, and live in crowded apartments where they lack personal space.
My hope is to provide a classroom environment in which students feel comfortable learning in the mode and location of their choosing.
My Project
In our classroom, students are usually engaged in group work and partner work, where they are encouraged to stand, lay down or sit any way they feel comfortable. This includes laying on pillows and rugs, or sitting on stability balls, crates, bean bags, wobble stools and chairs.
I had a lot of success last year with flexible seating, and am looking to add more options to our classroom.
My hope is that by providing students with more seating options, I will create a warm and inviting environment. One in which students feel excited to learn and engage with their peers.
