First graders are always beaming with pride and energy. The students who are in my classroom are always ready to learn. They take on new learning with zest. They are like sponges who want to absorb all that they can while they are in the classroom.
The children love having options in their day and these options help them feel like they have ownership over their education.
Centers and flexible seating allow for them to have these choices in their school life on a daily basis.
My Project
Students work in different areas of the room all day long. They enjoy being able to use flexible seating during these times. Having choices of seating is motivating to them and allows for them to be comfortable during learning times.
Research has shown that flexible seating allows for choice, physical health, comfort, community, collaboration, communication, sensory input, fun, and a commitment to The seating that we are requesting allows for more choices.
Students are able to figure out what works for them and what helps their learning progress. Developing a community of learners helps all students grow in their own ways and to work together to problem solve.
