This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is an elementary school that services students from TK to 5th grade. We are located in the middle of a diverse and dense urban population. We are part of a bilingual community learning in a dual language classroom. My students are full of energy and eager to learn therefore I'm always looking for ways to keep them focused and ready to learn.

Our school is located in the heart of Los Angeles a few miles from downtown Los Angeles, a thriving city.

We are a Title I school that serves low-income families from different cultural backgrounds.

My Project

Alternative seating such as wobble cushions, balance balls and soft seats will help my students have choice in seating to aid them in keeping focused and engaged in our everyday learning. Students are asked to learn a lot of content that will prepare them for college and career readiness as they prepare for their future.

The classroom is a difficult place to stay focused in and sitting properly for an entire school day is a challenge for many, adults included.

Therefore giving students a choice for seating will help them in their overall academic progress. The classroom should be a place for choice, alternatives, accommodations and flexibility. These donations will help us achieve that and support our classroom community.
