My Students

My students come from many different backgrounds. Yet they are consistently told the same thing: They aren't good enough. Our school is constantly on the news as being "low performing". Here is what is not on the news: my 21 students are hard workers who come to school to get an education and have the possibility to graduate from high school and either get a job or go to college. Many of my students will be the first in their family to achieve this.

As I told my students on the first day of school, we are a family, we stand by each other no matter what.

That is hard sometimes but in the end, we have the motto "I got you!"

My school is located in the East Side of Buffalo. It houses full time Pre-K to 8th grade. All students receive free breakfast and lunch. The area of the school is a high poverty zone. My students come from difficult upbringings but they are worthy of the best education I can give them. I will do whatever it takes to make their learning engaging and effective.

My Project

My students need and deserve anything that will help their learning. My sixth graders are worthy of having a kinesthetic classroom. Each day they will be able to rotate through the different seating options. Research has shown that kinesthetic classrooms perform higher.

Please help set me students up for success and to be the scholars I know they are.

Having flexible seating choices such as wobble chairs, ball chairs, and Pedal Exerciser Leg Machines will also help to reduce frequent behavior issues within my classroom. If students are focused on their academics, they will be successful. Your generous donations will help my students develop the reputation that I know is in them. Thanks so much.
