Help me give my students flexible seating such as a rug for whole group instruction, a bean bag for independent reading time and wobble feet for chairs to help students get their wiggles out at their desks.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students are energetic, lively, and curious 1st graders! Our students love to move and have a hard time sitting at uncomfortable desks and chairs.
My co-teacher and I would love to provide our students with flexible seating with your help!
Currently our students sit on the floor during morning meeting and read-alouds, but the floor is hard and cold. We would love to have a rug that fits all 26 of our students for whole group instruction as well as a soft area to sit or lay on during small groups.
Our first graders are beginning readers and as we try to foster a love for reading in them, we would love to have comfy areas to relax and independently read in the classroom. A bean bag would do just that!
And lastly, we would love some wobble chairs to help our wiggly students that have a hard time sitting still at their desks! These wobble chairs will allow students to wiggle and wobble in their desks while they work, allowing them to still be productive in their learning!
