My Project
Every day I look out into a sea of eager, inquisitive faces and say, "Good Morning class." My twenty-five amazing, third graders attend a community public school and reside in a high poverty area located in Bronx, NY. In school, they are learning to have a growth mindset and to learn how to live with empathy, flexibility, resilience, persistence, and optimism.
School is their second "home" and they come every day.
My third-grade class is in need of flexible seating wiggle stools for our small group tables and desks. We learn in small groups each day, and the students sit at kidney shaped tables or desks in regular school chairs. These wobble stools will help not only create an atmosphere of fun when small group reading and math is involved, but also allow my students "wiggle room" they should have with learning. This will give them the a chance to succeed in their studies. It will also help them be more focused and engaged during small group lessons.
My students are energetic and always want move around. At times, they don't want to sit in the school provided chairs, so I want to be able to provide an alternative.
