Every morning I am greeted by 23 energetic, excited, fun loving children. These children come from all different walks of life and bring their own creative energy to our classroom. Our classroom is a very fun and nurturing atmosphere and together we are a team.
My classroom is an opportunity for students to stay engaged through movement for the purpose of enhancing their education.
Sitting still is overrated and I love that my students can learn through movement - not just a standard one size fits all chair. Each child is unique in learns in their own way and I love that I can provide my students with a not one size fits all way of learning.
My Project
I am requesting flexible seating options for my students. Currently my students use stability balls in the classroom. While this works for many of my students, some are not comfortable with the way the balls roll. Many students need the comfort of a "chair" but still the option to move.
I think these stools would benefit my students by giving them the option to move while still feeling grounded with a stable seat.
Children need to be able to move to learn. I know myself as an educator feel more successful if I have options to move while working. I want my students to succeed and do not want to restrict them to one seating option.
