My Students

I love teaching third grade! My students come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and homes. They have struggled through the pandemic with a lack of help at home, and are struggling to catch back up to grade level.

They are enthusiastic learners, but struggle with behaviors that make it hard to sit still in class.

Finding ways to engage students and help them focus and learn in creative ways is my goal as a teacher in these new times. Providing things like earphones to help in learning is not always possible with school budgets.

My Project

The materials I am requesting will help my students who have suffered through the pandemic to adjust back to in school learning and be able to focus in class. Floor cushions are perfect for my students who struggle with self control and find it hard to sit in a desk all day. Being able to work in multiple areas of the room help students focus and learn more.

Coming from lower income homes, most students do not have access to headphones.

Providing school headphones is vital to students being able to complete online learning programs in both math and ELA.
