My biggest challenge as a kindergarten teacher is teaching the students and keeping their attention longer than 5 minutes. I love watching my students work hard and I want a more student centered classroom for my students to be successful.
My students are active, full of energy, and eager to learn.
Our rural K-8 school is mostly free and reduced meals. I want to help my students be comfortable in their learning environment to engage fully in learning. I want students to be able to work in an environment that benefit the need for movement in a five year old students and the ability for them to focus.
My Project
The wobble seats and the couch will provide my students flexible seating to work independently, with partners, or collaboratively in groups to learn in a comfortable setting. These materials will add to the few options (scoop rockers, carpet to lay on, stools) we already have implemented with success. We need more options to be comfortable while learning. I want to put my students in control of their learning.
Your donation will allow my students this year and in future years to be able to learn to the best of his/her ability free from standard tables and chairs.
Classroom behavior will decline due to students having space to work throughout the classroom instead of grouped up at tables with chairs.
