My Students
As the magnet school for STEAM, we at Joseph B. Cavallaro will provide every child with the support to grow intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally. In an advanced inquiry based learning environment, we will serve as leaders for the 21st Century, in both technology and the arts.

I am a STEM teacher in a Brooklyn middle school. I currently serve students in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. My students come from many different ethnic backgrounds. They also are a mixture of general ed and special education students.
My Project
These materials will allow my students to choose a seating option that best suits their learning style. Many students can not sit in a traditional chair for extended periods of time, giving them the option to take their laptops on the floor or sitting in a bean bag chair will allow the students to choose the option that best works for them.
Allowing a student to choose what works best for them will lead to increased attention spans, as well as increased productivity, and grades.
