Flexible Seating for Squirmy Middle Schoolers in SpEd Classroom
My students need 2 standing desks, 4 bungee chairs, stacking stools, and 2 Big Joe chairs to enhance flexible seating to meet their individual learning needs. In addition, I strive to have a college-going environment as we focus on college readiness skills.

My Students
I work with an amazingly diverse and talented group of scholars. While they may come to school each day with their own challenges, they persevere through the middle school years, which are not easy for anyone!
The majority of students that I work with have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and receive Special Education services.
Most of the students I support have Emotional/Behavior Disorders or Autism Spectrum Disorder. I learn more from them each day than they could ever take away from my classroom. I am grateful with each incoming class of 6th graders and love watching them grow through 8th grade.
My Project
My students use my classroom both as a learning environment for direct instruction in Math, Language Arts, and College Readiness as well as a safe space to take a break from the stressors of their day. I strive to offer a learning environment that meets their needs while also reflecting my belief in their path to higher education. The flexible seating and standing desks will be used during instruction for Math and Language Arts as well as when students are in my room completing their work for other classes with my support.
I have purchased some seating options already on my own, any additional support is much appreciated!
The standing desks, Big Joe Chairs, stacking stools, and college team bungee seats will be comfortable seating options, and will add to my already flexible classroom.
