My Project
My name is Ms. Brannigan and I am the 8th grade special education teacher at North Cumberland Middle School. My students have many sensory needs that are unable to be met by our outdated furniture.
I am looking for a variety of flexible seating options for my students with special needs.
Traditional desks are often difficult for students with ADHD and Autism as they do not offer any movement. Therefore, I am looking for a few standing desks as well as some Ergo Bounce Cantilever Chairs. This will offer my students options to help increase their focus and attention while providing that sensory input they need.
As we all know, funding for public schools has dwindled since the pandemic forcing schools to use what money they have to provide basic resources, like text books, paper, pencils and classroom technology. This leaves us with the outdated furniture to use until it deteriorates to the point of being unsafe. This also completely eliminates the option to purchase 'extra' furniture like the items that I am looking for. Any help that you, the donors, can provide, is greatly appreciated!
