My Students
At my school, we strive to provide an academically engaging and relationship building environment that, in three years, produces students who are ready for high school.
Our students have PRIDE "Personal Responsibility in Developing Excellence" in themselves and our school.
While many of my students come from low-income backgrounds they do not let that stop them from learning. I strive to provide the best resources possible for all of my students so that they can have the same learning opportunities as their peers in other districts.
My Project
The health & safety of my students is my highest priority.
With new social distancing & safety regulations due to COVID-19 my students need more flexible seating options.
By giving my students six lap desks with folding legs, they will be able to have a flat, stable working surface without being limited to only our traditional tables. They will have the option to sit on the floor with the lap desk legs unfolded to create a free-standing desk for them, they can leave the legs folded while using the lap desk in a single chair away from the tables, or can even unfold the legs to create their own standing desk at one of the tables. These options are great not only when social distancing is necessary, but also meet the special needs of many students who find sitting at a traditional table difficult.
These lap desks are easy to use and easy to clean between uses so they will be highly beneficial in my library this year & into the future.
