My Project
What I love most about my students in the Explorations program is their resilience, creativity, and the unique ways they approach learning. Each of them brings something special to our classroom, and I feel truly honored to support their growth—academically, socially, and emotionally.
Our site-based special education classrooms serve middle school students in grades 6 through 8 who benefit from a learning environment that meets a wide range of sensory, emotional, and academic needs.
As we prepare to expand into two new classrooms, it's vital that we create flexible, student-centered spaces that support focus, comfort, and engagement.
One of the key resources we're requesting is flexible seating—including rolling office chairs. Many of our students thrive when they have the freedom to move slightly while they work, and rolling chairs allow them to shift positions, stay engaged, and feel more in control of their learning environment. These types of seating are especially helpful for students with ADHD, autism, or anxiety, as they promote better posture, sensory regulation, and overall comfort.
These aren’t just chairs—they're tools for empowerment. Flexible seating allows our students to choose how they learn best, helping them build independence and confidence along the way. Your support helps us create welcoming, inclusive classrooms where every student can feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.
