My Project
I am requesting flexible seating which will allow my students to select what learning area will best work for them. Students are given the opportunity to take charge of their learning environment, during independent work students can choose a location and seating option that is best suited for them.
My students can currently choose to work in a several locations around the room such as: at different tables, sitting in a quiet area or on an area rug.
Allowing students to have a comfortable learning environment is essential. Students are move motivated and make good choices, where they stay engaged and get their work done.
The students in my classroom are more engaged, and taking charge of their learning when the choice of where to work is given to them.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. The wobble stools are will allow students to sit at desk but will still allow some movement. These will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to get the wiggles out. They can also be used as an alternative chair if needed! The kick bands will allow children who just need to move their feet an opportunity to do so that will not bother others around them.
I have seen how choice can positively affect my students work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more.
