My students are the reason I get up every single day. They are a diverse group of English language learners and general education students who love to come to school everyday to learn. They are unique and motivated ten year olds who deserve to have a learning environment that can have a direct impact on their achievement.
Creating a safe and positive environment has always been my number one priority.
A goal of mine is to expand our flexible seating in the classroom to increase student choice and help with sensory input.
My Project
Flexible seating allows my students to take charge of their learning and make choices that work best for them. The chair bands will be for students that need to move while sitting especially when they are expected to complete independent work. The bean bag ottomans will be great for our low table when students work in groups and need to remove themselves from their regular work stations. I can’t wait to put these to use.
With these new additions to our flexible seating, students can channel their physical energy in a positive way, allowing them to focus on their work and reach their full potential as learners.
