This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My 2nd grade students struggle with sitting on the carpet comfortably during whole group lessons. Using wobble chairs, balance ball seats, and comfy floor seats will help give my students a variety of different options to choose from throughout the school day. We have started to incorporate flexible seating and have seen a big improvement in their abilities to stay focused and be engaged in the lesson for a longer period of time. My students have appreciated the flexible seating we have borrowed from other teachers and would like to have our own classroom set. I will use the table top easel during small group instruction to give my students a visual of the strategies being taught.
