Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a high poverty, high needs urban district. My 5th graders love projects and research and collaborative learning. We are constantly moving about the classroom and working together and engaging in our learning as a team.

I teach in an inner city Rochester school in which all of my students recieve free or reduced lunches.

My students are of varying levels and abilities and bring many differences to the classroom. My goal is to use grouping every day throughout the year to better meet their needs and help them see maximum growth this school year!

My Project

These stools will make a huge difference in our ability to use flexible seating within the classroom. Students can grab a stool and find a place to work with minimal transition time!

I'll be able to maximize learning by being able to better place students in groups and allow them access to a variety of work spaces.

We have other teachers and specialists that push in to the classroom and work with the kids and these stools will provide us with much needed seating accommodations! Students learn their best when they are given the supports of collaboration and small group.
