I want my students to have a choice in their classroom seating. We want to ditch the desks in favor of a more comfortable and productive atmosphere.
I teach an amazing group of first grade students.
We read, write, sing, draw, and learn all day long. I teach in a rural community. I want to promote an active atmosphere of engaged learners. I want to support my students and give them a choice of where they want to read, learn, and work.
My Project
My students need six stability balls to create flexible seating in the classroom. The materials I am requesting will provide more alternative seating for my group of students. My students will be able to learn in an environment that is best for their needs and their learning styles. The stability balls will help the students to remain stimulated and keep them on task. The flexible seating option will help my students improve their executive functioning skills.
These materials will teach my amazing students to be responsible for their own learning by choosing an effective learning spot and managing their materials.
We will continue to improve our social skills by talking with many people throughout the day rather than sitting next to the same person. Flexible seating will help develop curious, responsible, and social learners. I want to support my students in the best way I can, and I believe these stability balls will help meet students' needs.
