it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a high school Ethnic Studies teacher, students often explore difficult and controversial topics in the classroom. In order to promote discussion about important topics such as racism, discrimination, and and difficult historical topics, it is essential that students have a safe space.
Providing flexible seating options like these office desk chairs for my students will allow them the ability to collaborate comfortably with colleagues in their chosen environment within the classroom.
Although the classroom desks are arranged in groups, the option of flexible seating will allow students to delve into topics with various diverse partners who they may not be seated near usually. Overall, flexible seating in this classroom will encourage participation, collaboration, and peer support.
