This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a suburb of Los Angeles with a wonderful group of students. We are diverse group with many different abilities and needs. I love being their teacher and look forward to coming to school every day (even on Zoom) to see and teach them.

These kids have been amazing to have back at school.

My students finished last year online, and they are starting this year in person. They are so happy to be back in the classroom.

I can see that they are a wonderful group of kids and they deserve to have an excellent year.

My Project

I am working on expanding my flexible seating within my classroom. By adding cushions, my students can comfortably work on the floor. The tables allow a new surface for my students to work on. I also am asking for new bins for my student's school items to go into.

Flexible seating allows kids to choose a learning space that works for them.

These options give my students the ability to work in new ways that do not fit the traditional classroom. Kids need the option to move around, while also developing an idea for what their best learning space may be.
