First grade has changed a lot over the years. The students are expected to achieve more than ever before. How can they do this without being provided the materials to do it?
My students are in a high poverty public school that is about 70% low income.
This is something that already puts some of them at a disadvantage. They are not all able to get extra materials at home to continue learning what has been introduced at school. For this reason, I want to be able to expose them to as many learning opportunities as possible! It is in my classroom where they get to take risks and open their minds to new learning experiences! I need your help to give them all of these experiences!
My Project
Over the years, I have slowly added alternative seating options to my classroom for my students. I have seen first hand how these different seating options allow students to be comfortable and even wiggle while they work.
All students learn differently and they all prefer different types of seating while they work.
As adults, we like to have a comfortable living space and work space. These children spend many hours a week in my classroom and they deserve to have a comfortable space as well! The ottoman and chairs that I am requesting in this project will help to provide a positive and comfortable learning environment for my students.
