My Project
I absolutely love how curious, energetic, and eager my students are to learn. They come in every day ready to grow, and they thrive when given a little bit of freedom and flexibility in how they work. Flexible seating allows my students to take ownership of their learning and make choices that help them stay focused and comfortable.
This year, I’ll be providing targeted intervention for our English Language Learners, and creating a welcoming, supportive environment is more important than ever.
During small group time, I want my students, especially those developing their English skills, to feel safe, confident, and comfortable as they take academic risks and build language fluency.
During independent work times, many of my students naturally seek out different spots around the classroom. They’ll choose to work under tables, stretch out on the floor with clipboards, or gather around lower tables in small groups. I’ve noticed that when students feel comfortable, they’re much more engaged, more productive, and far less distracted.
The products I’ve selected, wobble stools, comfy floor chairs, and beanbags, will give my students even more options for finding the space that helps them do their best work. The wobble stools are great for students who need movement to stay focused and can be used at any desk or table. The soft floor seats and beanbag chair offer inviting, cozy options for reading, writing, or collaborative group work.
I’ve seen firsthand how offering choice in seating helps my students stay motivated and confident. These additional options will support a learning environment where every child, especially those learning English feels empowered to participate, grow, and succeed.
