My students are happy, energetic, curious, and full of potential. They come from a variety of backgrounds and have a variety of sensory and cognitive challenges. Despite these challenges, my students are ready to grow, learn, and connect in the classroom. My classroom is both a resource and self-contained classroom supporting students in kindergarten and first grade. With the right tools and strategies, my kiddos can thrive and succeed.
This project will bring flexible seating options into my classroom to help meet the sensory and unique learning needs of my students.
Traditional chairs don't always work for my students as they are active and like to wiggle, bounce, or rock. Offering a variety of seating choices such as wobble stools, bounce chairs, or scoop chairs, lets my students choose what will help them be learn best in the classroom. Flexible seating options can reduce behavior and increase attention and engagement as students have more control over their learning environment to be successful. For my kiddos with sensory and cognitive needs, changing how they sit can impact their ability to stay calm, focused, and learn.
With your help, my classroom will become a more flexible and comfortable place where my kiddos can feel like they have choice, are supported and ready to learn. Flexible seating provides students tools to be successful in the classroom.
