This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach a primary special education classroom filled with bright, curious, and unique students, many of whom are on the autism spectrum or have sensory processing needs. Traditional seating doesn’t always meet their individual learning styles, and that’s why I’m requesting flexible seating options for our classroom.
With your help, we hope to add wobble chairs, yoga balls, floor seating, and other seating choices that will allow my students to move, wiggle, and position themselves in ways that will help them stay focused and comfortable.
Flexible seating will give my students the power to choose what works best for their bodies, which will lead to better engagement, improved self-regulation, and a greater sense of independence.
Your support will help create a more inclusive, supportive learning environment where every child has what they need to thrive. Thank you for helping us build a classroom that feels just right for all learners!
