My Students

My classroom has 18 happy and energetic kindergarten students. They love to learn but sometimes need more flexible seating to meet the needs of all learners.

A large majority of the school's population is free and reduced lunch which can lead to many students not having the materials they need to lead to their best learning.

My class is in need of flexible seating options to help meet the learning needs of all students. Not every student can learn by sitting in a chair at a desk. Students need options that will best meet their learning needs.

My Project

In my classroom, I have a diverse population of students who learn in different ways. Using flexible seating options will help to meet these students learning needs.

Not every student can learn sitting straight and tall in a chair at a desk.

Much of student learning is done in learning stations and by providing a variety of seating options at the stations it opens up the doors wider for student-driven learning.

I will use the seat spots at the listening station or any other learning station that has students using tables that are close to the ground. The reading pillows will be placed at a station where students can read independently a book of their choosing. Finally, the wobble chairs will be available for students to use at their desk or any other learning station where they need the flexibility to move while working.
