My Project
For the 25/26 school year, I have relocated to a new state, a new school, and new grade levels! I have accepted a position teaching self-contained students in grades 3-5. Currently, there are only the old-fashioned, one-piece desks and a few worn out bean bags for student seating. This does not allow for group learning, much desktop space, or partner work. To top that off, one-piece desks take up so much room which causes an extreme waste of space!
Most or all of my students LOVE movement!
It is my hope that having MULTIPLE options for seating will help our students find their comfort zones while being active participants in our classroom!
Currently, the room has 2 kidney tables in great condition which were used by the adults last school year. My goal is to remove all the desks and use kidney tables as our classroom workspaces. The stools will be for seating around our kidney tables, and the two sets of modular couches will allow endless configurations for children to utilize.
I am looking forward to having so many options for my students to learn, making a comfortable learning environment where their brains a grow into their full potential! Thank you for your consideration!
