My students are explorers, achievers, poets, musicians, scientists, writers, athletes, mathematicians, artists, engineers, and so much more! My students are some of the kindest children who want to learn and have structure in their day. We come from a variety of backgrounds and we all have different stories to tell. Living and learning in this neighborhood of Boston has its challenges, but it has countless positive qualities as well.
It doesn't matter what challenges the day throws at us, we come together as a community to help one another learn and grow.
The mission of our classroom gives us a purpose for our work. Our mission is "we come to school to gain knowledge and build better character". We strive to leave everything else at the door.
My Project
All people need to move a little bit! My second graders are in a stage of life where they are trying to learn and take in all of the world around them through moving and exploring. Even though we try to move around the room as much as possible, there are times when they need to stay in the same place, but that doesn't mean that they have to stay completely still! Their little bodies are full of energy and I want them to be able to take that energy and turn it into productive learning.
My adventurous students need furniture that allows them to be productive and move at the same time.
These chairs and cushions help the students activate their bodies while working efficiently on their school work.
