My Students

My wonderful students are blossoming right before my eyes! They are truly eager and active learners, who come in every morning, ready to take on whatever challenges come their way!

Regardless of any challenges that my students face, I want them to know that they are loved and that our school and classroom are safe places where they have the flexibility to learn comfortably.

Every year I make a promise to my students that as long as they work hard and try their best, I will, in return, work hard for them to have a successful and FUN school year. They truly impress me, every day, with their ability to help each other, share their feelings, and persist through any obstacles.

My Project

Children need to move! Moving helps to enhance learning for children and adults. It was found that when students have options in their seating they are more likely to participate and be engaged in class discussions. Flexible seating will allow students to move, rock, wobble, even lean or stand to increase oxygen flow and help children stay more focused. Having flexible seating options like beanbag chairs, butterfly chairs, stools, and yoga mats will also allow students choice in where they work, and with who they work, which will empower them and increase ownership over their work. It will enhance communication within the classroom. Most importantly, flexible seating is fun. A more active, engaged, and motivated class is always more fun. School should always be fun!
