My students are active, curious, restless, and messy. They are very smart and love learning through inquiry, including labs and games.
As a science teacher without a science classroom, I have to get creative with my learning tools to give the students the best experience possible.
I have had tables in my room for a few years. However, the only way to fit all the students in my room with tables is to have them face each other. Most years, this is slightly challenging for classroom management, but after Covid-19, it's become nearly impossible.
My Project
Students have gone from learning in the classroom to learning at home over and over. This disrupts their routine and makes sitting in the classroom difficult.
I want to give my students flexible seating options.
Right now, I have tables which serve my purpose as a science teacher quite well. But sometimes students need to move away from the table to work alone or move to another area to feel more comfortable.
By getting some smaller, easily moveable desks that can go into groups or be on their own, students will have an option in the classroom but I can also customize it for certain activities.
