Flexible Seating for Flexible Kids

My students need colorful crates, cushions, and crafting items to be used to create flexible seating for our classroom. I completed a project last summer creating crate chairs for our guided reading area.

My Students

My students are hard-working, growth-minded, creative students who enjoy learning and collaborating with each other. The environment sets the tone for learning and I want to provide these wonderful students with a vibrant, creative space that encourages them to dream.

Perseverance is a trait highly valued in our classroom.

The students eagerly tackle problems and challenges with determination, thoughtfulness, and innovation. Each day they enter the class ready to take on the day and be successful. Each day is a new day.

My Project

Students enjoy flexible work areas. The materials will be used to create crate seats for students to use at their desks, on the carpet, and to bring to the guided reading area. Students will also be able to use the crates to store books and notebooks as they work around the room.

Students love the opportunity to create collaborative spaces around the room and the crate chairs give them that flexibility.

The flexibility of seating will make transitions smoother, helps students stay organized by keeping supplies at their fingertips and brightens up the space that the students work in each day.
