This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager to learn and full of thoughtful questions. I am in a co-teaching classroom in the Bronx with students coming from a variety of backgrounds with so many different learning styles.
In my class, we have a strong sense of community where everyone supports each other.
No one feels different than their peers. My co-teacher and I do our best to meet the needs of each and every learner in our classroom. Every student views our classroom as their own.
My Project
My fifth grade students are in a co-teaching classroom to better address their academic needs. However, many students have a hard time staying on task because they are unable to sit still in their seat! Our classroom is spacious but seating options are very limited.
Students love being able to sit away from their desk but their options are limited.
The few choices they have are quickly claimed by the first students who need to move. With the wobble stools and floor seating as options, more students will be able to comfortably move around the room anytime they need to.
