My students need flexible seating options, like the Kore Wobble Chairs and Wobble Cushions, because the ability to move is proven to enhance learning, concentration and attentiveness.
Our elementary school is a large Title 1 school, with an enrollment of approximately 1300 students, Kindergarten through Fourth Grade. Our classroom is one of twelve first grades in our school.
Although our students are considered high-risk, they enjoy learning, are enthusiastic and are eager to do well in first grade socially, emotionally, and academically.
Often the classroom is a refuge for our students and my goal is to provide a safe, engaging environment for my learners every school day.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door!
Research shows that allowing students to sit in comfortable, flexible seating options greatly enhances their focus.
With a fulfilled project, I would be able to offer my students a variety of seating options based on what best meets their needs. Students would be able to use stools, wobble stools, and wobble cushions to focus in our classroom. These options will allow them to become more comfortable, find a responsible working space and get the most out of our work times and classroom activities.
As an adult, I find that I am more focused when I am given a safe and comfortable work space, and this will provide the same opportunity for my students.
