My Students
Our school strives to find the leader in all students. Every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, all it takes is exposure or motivation. The students in my class strive for excellence. They all inherently care about one another and continually make an effort to improve in all aspects.
My classes consist of 27 amazing students.
They are a group of diverse learners who continue to be proactive to overcome all obstacles that arise. They all have a win-win attitude and do their personal best to contribute to our classroom and school community.
My Project
My students need to be constantly stimulated and given the ability to move around freely. It allows them to take control of their education and makes them responsible for how they learn. It also allows students to be more engaged in classroom discussions and helps them focus during independent work times. During independent work times, they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently, my students are choosing to work in a variety of locations in our room such as: at different tables, sitting under tables with clipboards, or sitting or laying on the floor with a clipboard.
Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating and engaging them so that they are more focused on their work and less disruptive of their peers.
I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. They almost always make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. The stability ball chairs will allow students to sit at their desks or a higher table but still allows movement. These are extremely beneficial for students who fidget or just need to get their wiggles out. They are a great alternative to traditional chairs. The floor seats and beanbag chairs will allow for comfortable floor seating options.
I have seen how choice can positively affect my students' work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
