This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Learning is essential for students to be successful in life. While some of my students can sit at a desk and learn, I have students who are struggling and need to have alternative methods of being able to sit and learn. When I see students improve with their learning because of how they are sitting in the classroom, their whole demeanor changes, and their attitude toward school changes. The students also are always wanting to sit on the floor, but they have difficulty writing on clipboards.
The materials from Lakeshore that are being requested in this project help me to provide additional seating options for my students who have difficulty concentrating at a typical classroom desk.
Research has shown that when children feel successful in school, they are successful in life. These floor desks will be used specifically for my students who are struggling with sitting.
