This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students with autism can struggle to stay on task or have sensory needs that inhibit their learning. My request for flexible seating will improve focus and sensory input.
Students can lean, rock, or wobble in positions that are most comfortable to them.
This movement increases oxygen flow to the brain, which can help students stay alert and focused during long lessons.
Additionally, flexible seating options can also stimulate students' sense of touch, which can help children focus and process information.
My goal with this project is to provide my students access to alternate seating that can help support their learning. This project will also create an environment where all students can feel comfortable.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
