My students need ample opportunities to learn and work in a classroom that meets each of their individual needs. For many students, this means the options and opportunities to have flexible seating.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a highly enthusiastic and diverse group of learners! They come from wonderful families with a strong commitment to education, who will support their children as best as they can to achieve successfully in the classroom and in the future.
Unfortunately, as this is a Title 1 school, many students do not have academic support beyond what I provide in the classroom.
It is my job to make school as fun and enriched as possible. I believe that changing the layout of the classroom from the traditional to a more flexible environment where students can choose their seating option will enable my students to go further academically.
My Project
Flexible seating is a term in education that has gathered a great deal of fanfare lately.
My students all learn and work in different ways.
In order to provide them with the opportunity to learn in the way that works best for them, I would like to provide flexible seating options in the classroom. This would involve setups for cooperative learning and seating other than in their chair at their desk.
The stackable stools, for example, would give students a chance to work together in the hallway or a corner of the classroom in a circle formation, incorporating conversations and discussions about topics they're working on. The lap trays would enable those students who work on the floor to have a flat surface and storage. The folding chairs would provide a comfortable way to sit and enjoy a classroom discussion along the perimeter of the rug, expanding the space for all students.
