My Project
I hope this message finds you well! My name is Jasmine Wells, and I am a 5th grade Literacy and Language Arts teacher at G.H. Reid Elementary. My school has over fifty percent of students that qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. I’m reaching out to ask for your support in helping create a flexible, student-centered classroom environment by introducing flexible seating options for my students.
Flexible seating allows students to choose where and how they work, based on their learning preferences.
It can make a significant difference in their engagement, focus, and overall classroom experience.
Flexible seating will allow students to select seating that fits their individual learning styles—whether they work best sitting still, standing, or moving around. Flexible seating can:
Increase Engagement: When students are in an environment where they feel comfortable and empowered to make choices, they’re more likely to stay engaged and participate in lessons.
Enhance Focus: Having different seating choices allows students to find a spot that works for their focus, whether that’s a quiet corner, a standing desk, or a more active seating arrangement.
Promote Collaboration: Flexible seating encourages students to work together in small groups, fostering teamwork and social interaction.
Support Diverse Learning Needs: Students with different physical needs, sensory preferences, or learning styles can thrive in an adaptable setting.
I would love any support you can offer to help make this vision a reality for my students. Thank you so much for your consideration. Your support will create a space where my students can thrive and feel excited about learning!
