My Students

Our classroom is comprised of special education students who range in ability. Students are low income and have been diagnosed with autism, learning disabilities, and behavior issues. My students are very active and enjoy coming to school. Most of my students have difficulties with controlling their active bodies and retaining information because of their need to move.

It is my goal to provide students with the appropriate tools to allow their bodies to work off the extra "energy" that they have.

I anticipate providing a positive physical activity station in my classroom for students who need a little activity throughout the day.

My Project

Special needs students need seating that will provide maximum movement while participating in academic activities. It has been proven that students with attention deficit disorder will benefit from a variety of movable seating. During instructional time, students will be allowed to choose where they sit to allow maximum space while remaining engaged.
